What’s better than a wonderful meal in a restaurant? A great meal, a romantic weekend and great shopping at the Fife ´n Drum Restaurant, Inn & Gift Shop in Litchfield County.

Enjoy a drive up Route 7 from Danbury, CT to see the beautiful fall foliage, picturesque snow covered landscape, budding trees in spring and full bloom in summer and cap your weekend at the renowned Fife ´n Drum.
The Fife ´n Drum was founded by
Dolph and Audrey Traymon and is managed by their daughter, Elissa
Potts. They are planning lots of activities to celebrate the
restaurant’s 40th anniversary in January 2013, but
don’t wait until then because there is always something
exciting going on. The restaurant offers three rooms with three
different atmospheres. The brick and wood paneled David Armstrong
Room is casual during the day and dramatic at night with its high
ceilings, huge fireplace and artwork by the late local artist for
whom the room is named. For a more formal ambience, The Grass Room
is suited for small weddings, bridal and baby showers,
private parties,
meetings, conferences and holiday dinners. The Grass Room was built
nearly 10 years ago to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the
country inn restaurant. The high ceiling and
large glass windows make it bright and
cheerful year-round, and the fireplace makes it warm and cozy
during the winter. Dolph plays classic pop music on the piano six
nights a week. (The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays.)
There are daily specials and menus which change with each season. The innovative fare uses fresh ingredients that are locally sourced and specialties are prepared at table-side. There is at least one vegetarian dish every day. Call ahead of time and the chef can accommodate people with heart-healthy, vegan and gluten-free dishes, and all menu items are available for take-out. The Fife ´n Drum’s wine list has been recognized by Wine Spectator Magazine every year since 1990, the restaurant has maintained a “Best of Award of Excellence” since 1992.
